Measuring devices
Maritime Advance Research Centre has experience in the production of measuring devices,
including mainly various dynamometers, devices for measuring velocity fields in liquids and gases, free surface waves and a series of other instruments.
RESISTANCE DYNAMOMETERS
A resistance dynamometer is a specialized measuring device used in standard hydrodynamic model tests carried out in towing tanks or circulation tunnels.
POD DYNAMOMETERS
A device placed inside the POD housing as part of the modelled drive system, designed to measure the resistance and torque generated on the POD propeller (instead of the entire POD unit). The dynamometer can be used as part of the POD measurement system and for POD open water tests.
RUDDER DYNAMOMETER
The rudder dynamometer is used to measure the torque and the longitudinal and transverse components of the forces generated on the rudder model.
WAVE PROBES
The wave probes are designed to measure the height of the waves on the towed model.
VELOCITY MEASURING DEVICES
The device for measuring the velocity in the trailing stream P300q is a modern measurement system, designed to measure the three-dimensional velocity field behind the ship model, e.g. in a helix circle.
SIX-COMPONENT SCALES
The dynamometer is a general purpose device for measuring three forces and three moments. It can be used as an element of measurement systems in towing tanks, cavitation tunnels and wind tunnels.
Wake rake
The device is designed to measure the axial component of velocity at the position of the propeller.
Balancing machines
A device of light and compact structure used to determine the moment of inertia and the location of the center of gravity of a ship model.
